Artist Statement
In this crowded contemporary life, the international  crosses with the personal. However, one keeps looking for one's own، roots, pride and dignity.
For long time I have been looking for my own identity throughout my artistic career contemplating whatever touches my eyes,  from the scarification on my parents checks to different  aspects as Sudanese folkloristic objects to my very first visual experience.
In the last six years I was searching intensively for beads and their roll in African cultures. I went on field trips, looking at pictures, books and through the internet websites. I gathered  a great deal of information about beads and their role in Africa and Sudan. Focusing on my own region, around the Nile Valley. I visited museums in Sudan and Egypt looking for the  old treasures beads and precious stones that  were found in graves of Sudanese kings from the past. I studied them in order to discover the hidden aesthetic value that made them admirable and praised by people through out history.
Now what I have depicted in this exhibition is surely small part of that I have learned from our father artists who showed the world the beauty of beads.
